Basseterre, St. Kitts, 14th May, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) - Six young ladies were revealed at Sky Ultra Lounge, Royal Beach Casino, as the 2017 Brand Ambassadors of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
From a final list of 10 candidates, the six were selected and entered into a training program that will assist them in their role as ambassadors for the St. Kitts Music Festival.
The six young ladies were revealed at an event dubbed, Shades of Masks.
Congratulating the ambassadors was the chairman of the organizing committee, Faron Lawrence, of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
He commented, "We had 10 beautiful and capable young ladies to choose from. It was a very difficult process to choose six. But, I want to thank Val Henry and his company, VhCommunications, for the hard work they did in coming up with six young ladies to represent the Music Festival as its ambassadors."
Speaking about the Music Festival, Lawrence said, "This year we have a fantastic line-up for Music Festival, and we are confident that our festival will continue to grow from strength to strength, as it has over the years."
Referring to the longevity of the St. Kitts Music Festival, compared to some in the region that were short-lived, the festival chairman attributed the success of the festival to three primary components.
He indicated that the cadre of volunteers makes the Music Festival what it is. In addition, he commended sponsors for their loyalty, saying, In St. Kitts, we have been very privileged to have sponsors, some of whom have been with us since we started twenty-one years ago, and are they are still sponsors today."
Additionally, Lawrence said, "We have been blessed with ministers who understand the purpose and objective of the Music Festival, and they have always fought so that the festival could get the necessary resources."
Also addressing the evening event on 12th May, at Sky Ultra Lounge was Carlene Henry-Morton, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. She congratulated the 2017 Brand Ambassador of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
"On behalf of Minister Grant and the Ministry of Tourism, I congratulate the six charming young ladies who have been chosen to carry that prestigious title of St. Kitts Music Festival Ambassadors."
Continuing, she commented, "They have a huge task, but I know that they are committed and they are going to be able to deliver, helping to drive traffic through those gates."
The tourism permanent secretary encouraged businesses to take advantage of the opportunities of the festival. With additional visitors present during the traditional tourism off-season, Henry-Morton wanted local business to be ready.
She said, "Make sure that you begin now to network, to position yourself, to get the word out and to get your brand out. Get people understanding your services and products that you offer, especially for our guest during the daytime."
But she also wanted everyone to play a part in bringing visitors for the Music Festival and to the island in general.
She said, "I want you to invite your friends, your guests, your family from around the world to come to St. Kitts from June 22nd to the 24th to have an experience like no other in our St. Kitts Music festival."Tiffany Moore
